Computer Vision & Edge Perception.
An edge AI processing unit runs real-time vision models directly at the point of observation, detecting personal protective equipment without relying on a cloud connection.
How perception works
Camera feeds are processed locally by an optimized vision model running on a dedicated edge AI unit. Because inference happens on-site rather than in the cloud, the system avoids network round-trip delay and continues operating even if external connectivity is lost.
The model is trained to recognize compliance items such as hard hats, safety vests, and protective gloves within the camera's field of view, distinguishing compliant and non-compliant states across multiple workers simultaneously.
Why it runs at the edge
- Eliminates cloud latency for time-critical detection
- Keeps the safety function operational during network outages
- Processes multiple camera streams with consistent frame rates
- Keeps visual data local to the facility rather than leaving the site
What happens next
Detection results are not treated as standalone alerts. Instead, they are passed to the platform's decision-making layer, where they are combined with environmental sensor data to produce a single, continuously updated risk assessment.
